All Implemented Interfaces:
java.awt.image.ImageObserver, java.awt.MenuContainer, java.io.Serializable, javax.accessibility.Accessible

public class StatusBar
extends javax.swing.JPanel

A status bar is created with at least one and maximal ten labels to put text into. Always the first label resizes, if the corresponding frame is resized, the other label's size is fixed and depends on the text put into.

Constructor Detail

StatusBar

StatusBar(int labels)

Parameters:
labels - The amount of labels wished. Maximum is 10.

setLabelNumber(int)
Method Detail

setLabelNumber

public void setLabelNumber(int labels)
Creates for this JStatusBar object the number of labels that are wished to be shown. The minimum value is 1 and the maximum amount of labels is 10. If there are more labels actually present then are wanted to be shown, the labels at the end are cutted.
Only the first label, also called massage label, is the one, that resizes together with the window.

Parameters:
labels - The amount of labels wished. Maximum is 10, minimum 1.

getLabel

public javax.swing.JLabel getLabel(int nr)
Returns the label from the array.

Parameters:
nr - The label to get.
Returns:
The label with the given index.

setText

public void setText(java.lang.String text)
Sets the text for the first label.

Parameters:
text - The text to set.

setText

public void setText(int nr,
                    java.lang.String text)
Sets the text for the given label.

Parameters:
nr - The label's number to set the text for.
text - The text to set.

showDate

public void showDate(int timeLabel,
                     int dateLabel)
Using this method you can specify two labels, one to hold the actual time and one for the actual date. Setting a label number to -1 switches the corresponding label to be free for other purposes.
Internally, a timer is started, which updates the time and date every five seconds.

Parameters:
timeLabel - The number of the label to hold the actual time.
dateLabel - The number of the label to hold the actual date.
