AIM consists of several separate packages:
The AIM library contains C++ infrastructure classes for data exchange between the programs etc. This has to be built and installed first.
The aim-gui package contains the projects management tool and data import and export tools.
The grid-gui package contains the interactive grid editing tool.
The microarray package contains the image processing tools, the modified ANN library, the active contour library and polynomial and SVM classifier libraries. Source code licenses for this package are granted without fee for academic research use.
The library and Gui packages use the GNU autotools for portability. This applies to the image processing tools as well but not to the libraries contained in the microarray package.
Supported operating systems:
Linux: AIM has been built successfully on Debian Woody, different Suse and RedHat 8 systems (i386).
Digital Unix 4/5 (No experiences with the GNOME packages offered by Compaq)
